Hey, I’m Sarah
I’m an aggressive generalist and relentless strategist having spent the bulk of my career steering ambitious and ambiguous projects primarily in public sector and social impact spaces.
I’m currently leading product delivery at a start-up, tech-for-impact non-profit, Research Improving People’s Lives (RIPL). At RIPL, I founded our product organization and am leading technology, product, and science teams to design, develop, and deliver digital services aimed at improving end-user and policy outcomes. Our portfolio focuses primarily in the workforce development space with products aimed at supporting unemployment insurance claimants identify lasting careers by analyzing successful labor transitions in administrative wage data.
Previously, I was at IDEO; a design consultancy committed to creating positive impact. At IDEO, I coached a wide range of organizations to adopt more creative and innovative behaviors through the use of IDEO’s products. Prior to IDEO, I was at Code for America leading technology pilots focused on integrating how health and human service agencies deliver medical, food, and cash assistance with a goal of removing barriers for people in need of those services. My previous work has included program monitoring with a community-based organization in El Salvador, fraud and corruption prevention at the World Bank, and seeding research-driven innovation and rigorous evaluation for anti-poverty strategies at the University of California, Berkeley.
I have a BA in Economics and International Relations, an MA in International Policy, and extensive experience in design thinking, facilitation, product strategy, partnership management, and tech ethics.
